I’m Avedis Kalpaklian and I’ve been a local guide from Kesrouan since 2004. Nature has been my playground since I was seven, and I have always been drawn to the mountains. My passion for mountains was fully revealed about twenty years ago when I got a chance to explore them up close. The experience opened my eyes to the richness of life they harbor. Since then, I have become a climbing instructor, an avid caver, and a first aider for the Red Cross mountain rescue section.
I'm also a sports enthusiast and participate in many sporting events. Over the last ten years, I've joined Team Lebanon to climb the seven highest peaks of different continents. I've climbed 80 summits of more than 4000 meters and just have one left: Antarctica. I'm also the vice-president of the Climbing and Mountain Federation in Lebanon.
My passion for mountains has become my daily job, and I now accompany groups from the Sports for Life association for hiking, caving, trekking, and climbing activities all over Mount Lebanon. In the summer, we offer hiking and cycling, and in winter, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
In the Ghineh village region, I'm familiar with the local flora and fauna, and I love sharing this knowledge with hikers. During migratory season, we get to observe many birds.
