Since 2017, I've been working as a hiking guide in Akkar, a region I proudly call home. Originally hailing from Kobeyat, I find immense joy in guiding hikers through our picturesque mountainous landscapes, spanning from Qammoua to Akroum, with a delightful detour through Helsben.
My journey into becoming a guide began with a realization – I didn't truly know my own village or the richness of my region. This realization propelled me to embark on a quest for knowledge encompassing nature, geography, and our local population. I underwent training under the Environmental Council, becoming a specialized local guide with a focus on historical sites and the remarkable variety of trees that grace our surrounding forests, including juniper, fir, cedar, and the stately hairy oak.
The hikes I lead cater to a wide range of participants, from beginners looking for a gentle introduction to the trails to advanced hikers seeking a more challenging experience.
What I cherish most about my profession is the opportunity to connect with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. It's incredibly rewarding to assist them in discovering our region, just as I did. To me, Akkar remains an extraordinary gem in Lebanon, characterized by its exceptional biodiversity that never ceases to amaze.
