Debbane Palace is an ancient residence constructed in 1721 which resembles Arab-Ottoman architecture. This residence was occupied by members of the Hammoud family in the 18th Century and members of the Ottoman aristocrats of the Abaza clan in the 19th and 20th Century.
The ground level vaults were originally stables for the residents and later transformed into departments stores as part of the old souks, it is in the process of being remodeled into the History Museum of Sidon.
