Here are my roots, here is my language, here my heart is scattered over these hills. Here is Akroum, the generous Akroum, the tender Akroum and the beauty of Akroum. One of the gates Lebanon has in its far northeast, along the Lebanese-Syrian border, at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level.
Akroum is rich in archeological sites like Roman temples, Crusaders, Babylon steles, Saydet Al Durra, Churches and tombs along marvelous nature, forests and most importantly its generous and kind people.
Until I grew up and expanded my connections and got to know the members of the Council of Environment Al-Qobayat, through Dr. Antoine Daher, whom I once encountered while I was hiking as usual in one of the trails in Akroum.
Thanks to them, my circle of exploration expanded to the whole mountainous regions of Akkar.
Through Council of Environment, I began to learn about the nature of Akkar and its most important forests, where my colleagues and I would only find comfort and peace of mind while on trails.
Our region as a broad title to the soul's comfort. Poor whoever misses this beauty, Let’s discover together Akroum, your second home.
