I hold a PhD in “Archeology, History and Documents” from Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE) in Paris, and specialize in numismatic studies, from the medieval period. Currently, I’m:
- an assistant professor at the Lebanese University, at the Department of Arts and Archeology, Faculty of Human Sciences, Section 3 – Tripoli ;
- a researcher at The National Museum of Beirut, studying medieval coins (Islamic and Crusaders); Currently, co-director of the Abu-l-Hasan Fort, a Fort from the Medieval Period, in Sfaray/Jezzine;
- an Instructor at the Ministry Of Tourism, teaching “The Archeological sites” to holders of degrees aiming for diplomas in Tourist Guidance;
I published several articles about the Political and religious changing in the region of the Middle East through the coins and did many seminaries providing information and cultural, historical, and contemporary heritage interpretation of religious and historical sites, museums, and venues of other significant interest.
My book “L’Histoire de Baalabk à l’époque médiéval d’après les monnaies” won the prize of “Medaille Drouin” from the French Academy and Samir Shamma Prize from the British Museum in 2018.
Since 2018, I’m the General Director of the Lebanese National Library.
