I'm Roy Araygi, a Lebanese researcher and writer hailing from Zgharta, located in the northern region of Lebanon. I also serve as a local guide in my town, where I collaborate closely with the municipality and various associations on tourism documentaries and expeditions.
My passion lies in exploring the history of the Maronite and Ehden-Zgharta regions, and I have dedicated extensive research to these topics.
I am the author of three notable books.
In my first work, titled "Raiss min al Chaab," I meticulously documented the election of Sleiman Frangieh as the President of the Lebanese Republic. This book was published in both 2011 and 2012.
My second book, "Qeddissou Loubnan," focuses on the saints born in Lebanese villages. As of its publication in 2013, the book records the remarkable lives of 540 saints.
In my third book, "Zgharta: Tarikh min Tarikh," I compiled comprehensive information about my hometown, Zgharta, spanning from its establishment in 1517 to 2017. This book was published in 2017.
Additionally, I am the founder of the "EL-CHABIBA EL-EHDENIYA" association, which is dedicated to reviving the folklore of Zgharta, preserving the Syriac Language, honoring our martyrs and local celebrities throughout history, and organizing specialized guided tours in Zgharta and Ehden. We also extend support to our community during challenging times, especially during the ongoing Lebanese crisis.
