Since 2017, I've been guiding visitors through the Expo Hakel museum, immersing them not only within the curated collection but also leading expeditions to nearby quarries, where a trove of marine fossils remains concealed.
My lifelong fascination with these relics was nurtured by my father, Rizkallah Nohra, the founder of this museum. Over the years, he assembled a treasury of 500 marine species, now proudly exhibited in the establishment's two rooms.
From my earliest years, I joined my parents in scouring the quarries, uncovering these prehistoric remnants. Although I've become a doctor, my academic journey also encompassed the realm of marine biology.
During museum visits, I delve into the marine creatures on display and elucidate the intricate geological processes underpinning fossilization. I detail how these specimens have endured across millions of years. Visitors encounter various species within these walls, each linked to its ancient habitat through my narrations.
In the field, I orchestrate hikes along scenic paths, leading to fossil-laden sites surrounding the museum. Here, I elucidate the methodologies employed in fossil excavation.
Presently, what I cherish most as a guide is sharing my enthusiasm with visitors, particularly during the fossil collection activities facilitated by Expo Hakel at the quarries. Witnessing the wonder on people's faces as they split open a stone to unveil a hidden fossil is truly extraordinary—a magical moment I eagerly capture with my camera!
